Alan Guno: Bio

Alan Guno

Alan Guño is a musical artist with a lot to say – a young man with a vision. And it all starts with his love of pop music!

“Pop music is GOOD,” comments Alan. “I’m not sure why it seems that the genre has always been seen as unimportant or ‘bubblegum’ when there’s so much good that comes from pop.

“For one thing, pop is accessible. People can understand and relate to pop. They can understand the messages – and connect easily with the music. In addition, pop is structured so that lots of people can be touched by it – The benefits are felt by many, many people.”

“I’m not sure why anyone would criticize something just because it can reach so many people,” continues Alan. “Music should be shared – and enjoyed with as many people as possible!… I love pop music – and so pop music is what I’m going to create and sing.”

Alan’s feelings are very evident in his first two albums. The songs of "Evolution" are characterized by their sheer joy and emotion. And the music of "Boy Diva" shows that Alan is capable of delivering a story to which everyone can relate.

And now, Alan has released a third album which has taken many by surprise! "The Sun Will Rise" is Alan's debut Country album - and exhibits Alan's trademark optimism and approach.

"Country music is a joy for me to both sing and write," says Alan. "The storytelling, the interesting characters, the realism, and a very American honesty have always attracted me to country music... Like pop music, country music has its critics as well. But as with pop, you can't get away from the fact that it's music that invites you in and makes you feel good!"

2008 brings Alan's new pop album, "Icarus".

"This album is about pursuing your dreams," says Alan. "There are so many people out there who will ridicule you and mock you for trying something new. We even have TV shows dedicated to watching people fail in pursuit of their goals. But this album is here to say that it doesn't matter what those people say. What matters is that you pursue the passions that are deep within you, that you make an attempt to find your own personal wings and fly. Life is too short to listen to those who waste their time watching and mocking others, when they themselves should be living their own lives..."

"Icarus" features 13 new songs - from sweet emotional ballads to dramatic rock-infused compositions. It is a significant departure from what fans have seen from Alan previously - but one that he hopes will be inspiring and uplifting.

Next up for Alan is a very busy production schedule. Work has already begun on a dance-remix album, with new takes on many of your favorite songs. And Alan's first album of Christian pop music is already under way as well – which surely will exhibit his trademark pop styles and depth.
